昨年4月2日の日記*1で触れた故T中敏弘先生の最後の著作Japan and the Studies of the History of Economic Thoughtの書評がHistory of Economics Review誌（HETSA［＝オーストラリア経済学史学会］の学会誌）に掲載された。今日の時点ではopen accessで、全文を読むことができる。

この書評の最終段落に、
The book concludes with Chapter 26. Fittingly, this is an expression of condolences on the passing of Peter Groenewegen on 4 May 2018. Tanaka praises him for his outstanding scholarly contributions, for his willingness to engage with scholars, and for his generous personal guidance and support. Undoubtedly sentiments echoed the world over.
とあるが、その追悼文は僕が英訳して、一昨年10月3日にHETSAのconference dinnerの席で代読したものである。*2。準備段階から関わっていたので、それなりにたいへんな仕事であったが、それがこのように実を結んでくれて、苦労も報われるというものである。
書評がこんなにも早く出たのは、HETSA会長のAlex Millmowさんの並々ならぬご配慮のおかげであろう。彼は日本人研究者との関係を本当に大切にしてくれる。今や僕とAlexさんとの間にはかなり強い個人的な信頼関係が構築されつつある。それが日豪両学会の今後の学術的交流のさらなる活性化につながってくれることを期待したい。
